Altered Picture Frame

I had this picture frame that, while not horrible,  it just wasn't my style.

I was originally planning on still using it as a picture frame, so I gessoed it, thinking I would paint and/ or collage on it.

After thinking about it some more, I decided that I didn't want to keep the picture frame part and thought I would cover it with paper- or something, and decided to fill in the holes with dimensional magic. I've got this really old bottle- like 15 years old, and it's all yellowed, so I try to use it whenever I know it won't matter.

Next step: After adding another layer of gesso, I inked around the edges with tea dye distress ink.

I cut some cardstock slightly smaller than each panel,

covered it with dictionary paper,

and inked them with tea dye distress ink.

At this point, I still wasn't sure where I was going with this, but I figured I'd just keep going and eventually I'd get somewhere. I stamped four butterflies, cut them out, and accented them with a Gelly Roll clear stardust glitter pen.

I glued them on, but I knew it would need something else.

I had these paper flowers I made a few weeks ago and thought I'd try them.

The finished product! I think it turned out pretty good. It's definitely more my style now.

My New Swap Cards

So, I needed new swap cards, and I decided to make them more business card-like than my previous ones. I found this download from How About Orange with a cool blue argyle pattern, but unfortunately, my printer is out of colored ink. It printed in black and white and turned out rather blah.

I didn't want to waste them, but I couldn't stand the blah-ness. So I took some paper scraps and brightened them up. Much better now! Although, I apparently can't cut a straight line or glue something on straight.

In the Sun- Final Post

The last of my In the Sun pages, unless I find something I want to add. I didn't put as much effort into these as I did some of the earlier pages. I haven't really been feeling very creative lately. But I really have enjoyed the class.

I'm not sure what I will do with the rest of the book. There's probably twice as many blank pages as what I've used. Maybe I'll try to keep up the same sort of pages, through Fall and Winter. But I'm not great at coming up with what to write about. Oh well! I'll come up with something!

In the Sun pages. I've gotten a bit behind. There are three more prompts; I just haven't been feeling very inspired this week.

I didn't really follow the prompt, but I had all these pictures of Annabelle. Once I read the prompt "dog days", this was all I could think.

This wasn't for one of the prompts; I just wanted to include it.

The cards at the bottom and the London at the top are from here. The rest is from some mail we got from the cable company.

I had a blank library card and pocket and I thought this would be a good use for it. I journaled on the card and put a brochure from the library program in the pocket as well.

More Art Abandonment!

I abandoned two ATCs at Walmart today. It was crazy busy, but I was still able to get a couple of quick pictures. I left one in the pet department with the aquarium things and one in the craft department near the beads. I had one more in my purse that I was planning to leave near the groceries, but it was way too crowded.

12 new ATCs I've made. I'm not sure if they're going to be swapped or abandoned. Probably some of both.
I think I'm through with them, but I may end up adding an embellishment here or there.
