Art Abandonment

Ever since I heard about the Art Abandonment group on Facebook, I've been wanting to abandon some artwork. Some info from the group:

Art Abandonment is a group designed to encourage random acts of art, left in various locations around the globe. The idea is that folks can make something and leave it for a lucky unsuspecting person to find. Artists can then post locations and photos of abandoned goodies…and finders can let everyone know that they are the lucky finder!

I just think it is a really awesome idea. I've been a member of the group for a few weeks and I finally made some ATCs. The problem I'm having is that I love the two I made and I'm not ready to abandon them. They are probably the best ATCs I've ever made and I can't stand the thought of them being thrown away or something like that. So at least for now, I'm keeping them. I'm in the process of making more, but it may be a while before I get those finished and ready to be abandoned. In the mean time, I went through my old ATCs from a few years ago and found several that I could abandon. My style has drastically changed. The old cards are more scrapbookish or crafty than arty, if that makes sense to anyone but me. But I do still like the cards and hope that whoever finds them will as well. I'm planning to carry them around in my purse and look for places to leave them as I go around town.

Some of my old ATCs I plan to abandon. There were also some duplicates from a swap that never happened.

I went to lunch with my family and left three in various places at the restaurant. It wasn't as crowded as usual today, so I was able to get pictures.

You can't really see it, but I left one in the mouth of the foo dog statue at the Chinese restaurant.
I also left one on the table with the sugar packets.
And one on top of the bubble gum machine.

I hope they get found. I know I might never hear anything from whoever finds them, but I do hope that they are enjoyed.
